However, for most passengers in the country, the battery car service in the terminal is more of a “landscape”. Can airport battery cars provide free services to passengers?

The reporter often sees in the domestic airport terminal that many passengers often have to endure the hard work of “long-distance trekking” when they fly. Due to the large area of ​​the domestic airport terminal, passengers have to walk a long distance to reach the boarding gate after passing the security check. Take Capital Airport Terminal 3 as an example. It takes 25 minutes from the security checkpoint to the farthest gate. Such a distance is a time-consuming and laborious task for passengers with luggage to catch a flight. Guangzhou New Baiyun Airport will take more than 20 minutes from the security checkpoint to the farthest gate. The reporter saw many times that some passengers were dragging their luggage and panting all the way to the boarding gate.

The battery car running in the terminal building became a "landscape" in the terminal building. The battery car is used to provide convenient services for passengers in the terminal building, but the high fees allow many passengers to "see and not use" the battery car. According to the reporter's understanding, the battery cars in various airports are charged more than 10 yuan per person, which is equivalent to the price of 3 kilometers in the city.

He believes that the airport as a basic public welfare facility provides the public with a non-profit basic industry service. As part of the service measures provided by the airport, the battery car should be free. For example, in the 1990s, a glass of water charges passengers 10 yuan, but under the attention of all parties, drinking water at airports is free and sufficient.

Li Jiaxiang, director of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, said that for a long time, due to the lack of clear positioning of the airport, the airport industry policy is not clear, the management method is not clear, and the system and mechanism are not smooth. The State Council's "Regulations on the Administration of Civil Airports" implemented on July 1 this year made a clear positioning of the airport's own attributes, positioning the airport as a public infrastructure, and the airport management organization in China should be transformed from a business model to a service type.

According to industry experts, this means that the airport's job is to provide public services to passengers, not to profit from passengers. Governments in Hong Kong and other places have introduced regulations that explicitly limit the airport's profit ceiling and ensure the public service role of the airport.

The good news is that the current battery car in the terminal building provides a free service for passengers. In addition to Air China’s VIP “free” and free parking in the Capital Airport’s Terminal 3, in October this year, Shanghai Pudong Airport announced that special passengers, such as the elderly, the sick and the disabled, were taking domestic flights at Terminal 2 of Pudong Airport. You can enjoy the free service of the battery car. However, ordinary passengers at Pudong Airport are charged at 10 yuan per person. In the next stage, Pudong Airport will extensively solicit the opinions and needs of airlines and passengers, and gradually expand the service scope of battery vehicles.
